Our Work

Building the Future of Sea Turtle Conservation.

Southwest Florida Sea Turtle Rescue is working to build a comprehensive approach to sea turtle conservation across Southwest Florida.

Today, our work focuses on education, community outreach, conservation awareness, volunteer engagement, and building relationships with the people and organizations that share our commitment to protecting sea turtles.

Our long-term goal is to establish a dedicated sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation facility serving Southwest Florida. This facility will allow us to expand our capacity to respond to turtles in need, provide rehabilitation, support successful releases, and strengthen our conservation and education programs.

We are building toward a future where more sea turtles can be rescued, rehabilitated, returned to the wild, and protected for generations to come.

Five Pillars. One Mission.

Our work is built around five interconnected areas of impact. Some are already part of our work today, while others represent the programs and capabilities we are working to develop as our organization grows.

Rescue

Responding to sea turtles in need.

Rehabilitate

Providing a path toward recovery.

Release

Returning healthy turtles to the wild.

Protect

Reducing threats and protecting coastal ecosystems.

Educate

Inspiring people to become conservationists.

Together, these five pillars form the foundation of our long-term vision for sea turtle conservation in Southwest Florida.

Where We Are Today

Starting Small. Building Something Bigger.

Southwest Florida Sea Turtle Rescue is a growing organization with a long-term vision.

While our dedicated rescue and rehabilitation facility is still a goal we are working toward, we are already laying the foundation for that future through education, community outreach, conservation awareness, volunteer engagement, and relationship-building.

Every program we develop, every person we educate, and every partnership we establish brings us one step closer to expanding our ability to serve Southwest Florida's sea turtles.

We may be building the foundation today, but our vision is for generations to come.

Where We’re Going

A Dedicated Home for Southwest Florida's Sea Turtles

Our long-term vision is to establish a dedicated sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation facility in Southwest Florida.

The facility will provide the space and infrastructure needed to expand our organization's ability to respond to sea turtles in need and develop comprehensive rehabilitation capabilities.

But the facility is only part of the vision.

We are building an organization that connects rescue, rehabilitation, release, conservation, and education into one mission—creating a lasting resource for sea turtles and the communities that care about them.
