While You Wait

  • Keep people and pets away from the turtle.

  • Do not touch, move, or attempt to treat the turtle.

  • Note the turtle’s exact location and the closest beach access or landmark.

  • Be prepared to tell FWC whether the turtle is alive or dead and its approximate size.

  • If the turtle is alive and it is safe for you to do so, stay nearby until help arrives or FWC gives you further instructions.
